FOTOBorn and raised in scenic Montealegre del Castillo (Albacete) in 1950 to a wine producing family, all my life I have been living close to the land and to the world of wine. At the age of 12 my father passed away and I inherited the family's modest vineyard. Thanks to the profits from the vineyard and supplemental agricultural production, I was able to put myself through college and attain a degree in Pharmacy.

As time passed my passion for my ancestral home and its innate beauty led me to purchase old vineyards and establishing new ones near and around the original location.

In 1994, filled with more enthusiasm than possibilities, I acquired Santa Rosa. A spectacular estate, Santa Rosa features an eighteenth century colonial manor filled with the splendour of a by gone era. Located between Almansa and Montealegre del Castillo, it is well within the limits of the Almansa denomination of origin. It is advantageously nestled near vineyards, olive groves and grain, creating the perfect conditions to cultivate a 100% organic product.

In 2001, the historic estate was faithfully restored to original its original condition, in keeping with its protected national heritage architectural status.

Concluding a long held dream which was christened with the same name as the original vineyard, Matamangos.
